This tool will detect whether the computer has a fingerprint scanner and, if so, allow users to register their fingerprint data. Once recorded, fingerprint data can be used by the system for authentication in the following scenarios:
- Login screen
- Screensaver
- sudo command
- Admin applications (pkexec)
Under the hood, fingwit uses fprintd along with its own PAM module, which is said to be more advanced due to its ability to automatically switch between fingerprint and password-based authentication in specific situations.
This addition further strengthens Linux Mint’s position as a recommended desktop distribution, especially for users with devices that include fingerprint scanners, by making authentication more convenient and integrated.

Pengalamanku pakai EndeavourOS kalau login pakai fingerprint tidak bisa otomatis unlock secret service bawaan DE macam Gnome Keyring ataupun KDE Wallet. Jadinya habis login harus masukin password lagi buat unlock keyring.
ReplyDeleteKalau di Linux Mint ini gimana ya?
Entahlah, laptopku ga nganggo fingerprint soalnya
